Kai and Kale visit!

The Strawbridges kept their car at our house while they were out of town. After Darin picked them up at LAX on Tuesday night, they came back here to get their car. We had dinner and the kids got to play for a few hours. It was such a fun time of visiting. We miss them!

Flag football

Jack and Hank have been playing football through Lakewood Parks and Rec. Jack had his first game the other night. He is on the Dolphins, but their shirts hadn't come in on this day.

Jack's baseball game

Jack played today at 11:00. The weather was much nicer today...with a cool breeze in the shade. Jack got to hit twice and made it to first base once. He played out field, second base and first base. He is really doing a good job and is enjoying his first experience with more competetive baseball.

Hank's baseball game...

At Hank's baseball game today he got to play catcher, short stop and he hit a home run of the pitching machine! Way to go Hank!

Clarinet

One of the great parts about moving to Lakewood is all the opportunities Jack and Hank now have. At the school the boys attend 4th graders get an opportunity to be in the band. Jack was so excited about this. At first he wanted to play the drums (of course). But after I told him that I was fine with that, but that he would not be able to practice at home since I was NOT going to buy him a drum set, he decided to wait for the assembly to pick out an instrument. At the school the teacher has each of the instruments sampled during an assembly. Jack chose the clarinet because he "liked the way it sounds." I went out and rented him his clarinet and he started lessons at school last Thursday. SO fun.

For my friend Jen!

New Jackets...

I bought all the kids new jackets from Landsend. The older boys needed a solid colored sweatshirt for school. These are rated for cold 15/40 so we should be set for all winter, unless it is rainy! They all picked out their own...

Dentist

This was Will's first trip to the dentist and Lily's first time to get X-rays. They both did excellent...such good patients.

Karley and Hank vs. Jack and Eric!

Our friends from Hume Lake came down to visit us for a few days and go with Darin and I to a concert in Hollywood. We all had such a wonderful time visiting. Eric and Emily surprised us and stopped in on there way back up to Sonora!

Home Grown Corn!

I kept waiting for the corn to be ready to pick, but I finally decided it must be ready, as the plants are starting to dry out and die down. So I picked the corn and although it was pretty short (the longest was about 6 inches) the corn was actually in good shape, ripe, and really tasty. We ate it in our chicken tortilla soup the other night :)

First full day of school

Lily and Will at the church for preschool. This is the first full day of preschool. She went from 9:00 to 3:00! She even took a lunch and ate it with The Lunch Bunch.
What a big girl...I can't believe it! She loved being there all day!

1st day of Preschool

d

Lily had her first day of Preschool today. Mommy got to come with her to see her classroom and meet her teachers. It was just a short day today. Lily was quite upset that it wasn't her normal 9-3 without Mommy day. We will see how she feels about it on Wednesday :) I think the preschool and her teachers seem wonderful. I am so thankful we have the chance for her to go there.
