Update...
The doctor was skeptical that Will's ear drum had really burst as it was not leaking and he had no fever, so he suggested that we watch and wait on giving him medication. He was in a lot better mood this evening...maybe he is recovering. I also scheduled flu shot appointments for the whole family next week. Woohoo!
Our Morning

This morning we got up and got the boys off to school. Then Lily, Will and I went on a walk around the lake with Keri and her kids. I was really concerned about how Will would be because he has been a beast this last couple of days (really clingy, yelling, crying, throwing himself down, etc.) To my surprise they were great on the walk and it was actually a nice time. After we came back and I got ready and did a little house cleaning. Then we went to the sand by Ponderosa and played with the Butlers and some other friends. It was a fun time out in the fall sun. After we went to pick Hank up at school and meet Darin and Jack for lunch. On my way home from lunch I stopped by to have the nurse check Will's ear. She says it has blood in it and probably burst. :( Bummer... I feel so bad about it, but I really have tried to do something about it. I even took him to the doctor the other day. So she is calling the doctor to see if she can give him more antibiotics. Hopefully she can, or I may be taking a trip to Fresno again soon.

Johnny Appleseed is one year older!

Hank reading to Lily

A book about Johnny Appleseed

Mrs. Bonnell tying Hank up before bobbing for apples

Bobbing in packing peanuts...He got one even though he is missing his two front teeth!

Lily got a chance.
We got to stay for the first part of Hank's school party, but had to leave so I could babysit Kai and Kale. At the party they were also able to make mini caramel apples and eat lots of apple flavored desserts.

Muddy Mess!

Not sure Keri's gonna want to let her girls come over to play again...it got a little messy out there. My house is a testament to the amount of mud being played with by my children (well, I like to tell myself that's the reason it is so filthy :) )

Breakfast Pirate!

Will found a new love...Marshmellow Mateys! (generic Lucky Charms). He loves them and eats a whole bowl in the morning. He even feeds himself. I am pleased because even though it is a sugary cereal it has 50% of his iron needs for the day. So it can't be all bad, right? He was posing for me and when I stopped taking pictures he pointed and insisted I take some more.

It's Fall!

It was pretty chilly this morning when we went on our walk around the lake. The trees around our house are starting to change colors too. It's definitely Fall.

Chimps in Space!

We took Jack to the movies for his birthday today. We had wanted to see Clone Wars, but it left the theatres two days earlier, so we were left with only a few options. We ended up seeing Chimps in Space! The boys liked it pretty well. We met the Brownells and the Wissinks at the theatre for the movie. Lily was excited to see the movie, but she spent a lot of time eating snacks and sitting on Tonya's lap. I think she was "doing" Tonya's hair at one point. Darin and I (mostly Darin) took turns watching Will in the lobby. He had no time for watching movies, there was way more interesting things to do at the theatre...like trying to eat junk off the floor, walk around the dark theatre, and climbing all over Mom's head. It was so much fun, I am sorry that the next kid birthday is not for 6 more months. Going to the movies with Lily and Will is not that much fun. The other kids had a great time though.

The Return of Friday Babysitting

I am babysitting for a friend on Friday mornings while she teaches art at the school here. I am such a fan of art in school and I love her kids, so it is a good trade off. Also she watches my kids one of the days I teach preschool. Anyways, last year it could be a challenge watching them all because there were two 2-year-old girls and two boys under the age of 1. This year the girls are older and actually seem to be truly friends and really enjoy each other's complany and the boys are much more easy going. It should be a fun break in our boring weekly routine.
Reign of Terror

When Will is feeling very naughty this is one of the stops he makes on his "Reign of Terror." in which he goes from one place he's not supposed to be to another. I really want Darin to put a lock on this cabinet. Maybe someday he will. Until then, I just keep putting the stool back and stuffing the colored pencils back in the cabinet. I noticed a few green pencil marks on my floor the other day. He loves to color (on any surface he can find.)

Something's missing!

Hank pulled his own tooth out last night. He was so excited about it! The tooth fairy brought him his $2 in quarters. He has such a grown up look now...

Not so much....

Will on the other hand...it's hard to get him to look at the camera, and when he does he is always blinking or making a goofy face. He is still soooo cute though!
So Photogenic!

Lily is modeling her new birthday outfit from Grandma McWatters. I just love it! I did her hair today and tried to bribe her to keep it in. It lasted way longer than I thought it would. She has been wanting long hair, so I told her if she would leave her hair up when I did it, then I would let her grow it some. She is such a corny kid. I think she gets it from me...luckily she is much cuter!
New TV

The other day Darin was playing Rock Band with the boys while I was out working on the preschool room. When they were finished he was putting things away when he heard the stomach curdling sound that we had always dreaded hearing (no the kids were fine :) ) The TV made large cracking sounda and Darin said it sounded like it was going to explode. Then the picture went dim and then black. Such a sad day... He looked it up and found that there was nothing we could do to fix the now broken Plasma tv.
Darin and I were very graciously given the large tv as a present. Our friends were moving and couldn't take it with them, so they left it with us. It has been awesome to have and I knew when we got it that it would be a problem if anything ever happened to it. Darin and I even joked about this day... Well just as I had figured...we just couldn't go back to the old tv...
So Stephanie our dear friend, watched the munchkins and Darin and I set out to find ourselves a new TV. (Don't judge...we know we have issues :) ) We ended up with a projection TV like my dad and aunt have. WE LOVE IT!!! We got the floor model and a nice discount, which always helps. We also had to get a new stand to put it on since this one can't be mounted on the wall. I got to pick it out and I am really happy with how it fits into the living room. It was a sad day, but it ended on a good note.

Soccer 2008

The soccer season here in our small community has begun once again. This year Hank is on a team for K-2nd graders. Darin is one of his coaches. He did so great yesterday. I think he is enjoying being one of the bigger, older kids. They are the orange team and their name is the "Lava Monsters." They beat the other team by a ton, but to be fair the other team is made up of mostly kindergarten girls...so it wasn't really an even match.
Jack is playing on the 3-5 grade team. He surprised Darin and I by passing, supporting his fellow teammates, and paying attention to what his coaches wanted him to do. He did a great job and must take after his Uncle Jason and Grandpa when it comes to soccer skills. He rocked. His team is the the Teal Tidal Waves? I think...I will find out for sure. He is getting so big!
Will and Lily enjoyed running around by the field and hanging out with our friends. I am sure if given the chance Lily would have been out there playing... she was quite disappointed she wasn't old enough.
